Ipswich Croquet Club (UK)

about us

''Croquet: six hoops, four balls, two mallets and a patch of grass. Sounds easy enough.

Croquet is a game of skill and strategy, angles, tactics and guile. A bit like snooker on grass.

Croquet offers sport, friendships, fun, competition and a whole lot more.

To see what we mean please watch this short film:''

Ipswich Croquet Club was established over 100 years ago in Suffolk, England. It moved to Fynn Valley Golf Club 3 miles North of Ipswich in April 2012, where it now enjoys first-class facilities including:

• Two full size lawns

• Free convenient parking

• Croquet pavilion providing a sheltered viewing area

• Full changing room facilities at the Golf Clubhouse

• The Courtyard Bar offers an informal atmosphere where drinks, meals and snacks are available throughout the week

Ipswich Croquet Club welcomes people who wish to play croquet either socially or competitively.

The club can provide coaching for all abilities from beginner to national levels. You need no special clothes apart from flat-soled shoes, and we provide all the equipment you need to get started.

Annual membership entitles you to year round play, and our members benefit from the great facilities of Fynn Valley Golf Club.

Our club meets every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm from April to September and Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1pm all year round, weather permitting. Members can also play anytime during the week. Why not come and try it?

The club welcomes people of all ages, and runs events throughout the season, which cater for both beginners & more experienced players. There is also the opportunity for beginners and improvers to be coached during the regular club nights. These are every Tuesday (April to October) starting at 6pm. Beginners will also be welcomed if they come along to a Wednesday afternoon session, starting at 2pm. Additional advice is available afterwards in the clubhouse!
